Dr. Brandon Yip is a licensed clinical psychologist in California and specializes in forensic psychology, neuropsychology, and suicidology. Dr. Yip holds both a doctorate in clinical psychology and a juris doctorate (law degree). He completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in psychological and neuropsychological assessment at Pacific Clinics and an additional one-year post-doctoral fellowship in community health. He completed his doctoral internship in forensic and correctional psychology at the CA Dept. of Correction and Rehabilitation. He also completed a neuropsychology externship at Children's Hospital LA/Keck Medicine of USC.
Dr. Yip currently leads the Psychological Testing/Evaluation Program at Pacific Clinics— the largest community mental health agency in CA— where he provides psychological testing, neuropsychological testing, and clinical consultations. He provides direct services in the school-based mental health program and the Early Intervention and Diversion Program in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Probation. Dr. Yip is a Supervising Psychologist for the agency’s Clinical Psychology Training Program, including the APA-accredited Doctoral Psychology Internship Program and the practicum training program. Dr. Yip also supervises interns at the agency's Asian Pacific Family Center and the Latino Youth Program. Further, Dr. Yip also provides clinical services in his own private practice and is a consultant to various local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Dr. Yip serves as a research peer reviewer for Springer Journals, a subject-matter expert for suicide and risk assessment, and a consultant to a clinical translational science research consortium.

Dr. Yip developed the Suicide Risk Assessment Scale (SRA) and the Violent Threat Risk Assessment Scale (VTRA). He founded the Center for Risk Assessment (CRA) which distributes these scales and specializes and engages in understanding an individual's risk for suicide and violence, while providing education to professionals on suicide and violent threat assessment.
